Remission!

Dr. Connelly called with fantastic news tonight. Izzy's cancer is in remission (the goal of these first 4 weeks of chemo), meaning that less than 5% of her bone marrow cells are cancerous (actually 3%) compared to 85% when she was first diagnosed. All of us including her doctors are very excited. This also means that they won't have to intensify her treatments--we will be able to stick with the original plan. Thank you all for the awesome support.

Izzy's celebration consisted of some nausea that ended in her paying homage through the mouth to the porcelain throne. We are thankful that she won't need more intense treatments as the side effects of her current treatments are becoming worse.

Hi Guys,

It's Michele, Kelsey's mom. So sorry I didn't get to talk to you more in the clinic the other day. I had to leave abruptly, sorry. Could you please let us know when Izzy will be in clinic because we would sure like to time our blood draws so that we can see you all again and spend some time visiting. Thanks!

Travis and Aimee told me about Izzy a few weeks ago and I found out about the blog this weekend. You and Izzy are definitely in my prayers and I am so happy for you that her cancer is responding to the treatment! She is one tough little girl! Cory, that video you made is amazing -- thanks for introducing me to Izzy. The last time I saw you guys, you only had little Squishy...

We are sooo happy for your family. You have been in our prayers everyday. Whenever Isabelle says the prayer (which is pretty much every time... we're still working on taking turns.. the boys "help" her too:) Isabelle always says... "Please bless my friend Izzy and her family." She is so excited to see Izzy in sunbeams again. We all are. Her sweet smile is contagious! You are all missed and loved. Thanks for the updates... you are all amazing!
