Last night we noticed that Izzy's temperature was on the rise, so we kept checking it throughout the late night and early morning. At 3:30 am her temperature was 100.5 which equals a trip to the ER for antibiotics. Dr. Connelly assured us initially that we would have several trips to the ER for antibiotics during the course of her treatment because her immune system would be so weak.
Kerri took Izzy to the ER at 3:30 and 5 hours later they came home. The ER took her blood counts which looked pretty good and then gave her some antibiotics just to make sure that whatever was causing the fever got eliminated. She's doing pretty good now. Her temperature is still a little high so we are keeping an eye on it.
We are trying to find the right balance between isolation and keeping her life fun and semi-normal. It will probably be something we struggle with for the duration of the chemo.

Hi guys, I am soooo glad I did not see you when I came to work today. It must be hard to find things to do without all the germs. Elise and I do crafts all the time in the winter and when the weather is bad. We make necklaces, paint, make window art, do foam art. Just fun stuff. Oriental trading company has some good stuff cheap. You also get enough to make about 12 things. Just some ideas to help keep the sanity locked in the house 3 girls. Give me a call! Only sending cool wishes.
So sorry about the trip to the ER. I take back what I said about the medicinal properties of goat snot! We are still praying for you.
Love tons,
Jenny
I'm sorry about the trip to the E.R. I'm sure Tiff will tell you that even driving past a petting zoo causes an infection in her system :) I'll make sure I scrub down before I come over!! LOOOVEEE YOU!!!
