Angry!!

OK, I've got 5 minutes to post. I've got to get this out of my system.

Izzy has had bladder infection symptoms going on since Sat. I tried to take care of them myself with home remedies I have been given. Monday was her appointment and I told them there at which time they took a urine test. I called back later that day wondering about the results and 2 days later I finally had to call and basically chew the receptionist out for her to let me talk to somebody (the same somebody that never called me back when I was told they would.) So, finally I got to talk to a nurse and sure enough her urine test was positive for bladder infection. IT IS THURSDAY!! She has had burning, constant urination (sometimes as close as 10 min intervals) and wetting herself often for 6 days and I never got a call back!!!! A LEUKEMIA PATIENT WITH AN INFECTION....HELLO DALLAS CHILDRENS!!!!!! Anybody home??? Angry!! Starting antibiotics tonight. Angry I'm not still dealing with my favorite doctors and nurses in Michigan :( Thankfully Izzy has been amazing and continues to smile through it all.

Done. Thanks for listening.

I am so sorry that you have to working with stupid people. I hope that after making a big deal about this you will be treated better next time.

So sorry! I hope that is the only bad experience you will have. We'll keep Izzy in our prayers so she will feel better sooner!
Good luck to you both.

I can see how that would light a fire under a person. These "home remedies" you mentioned...are they left over antibiotics shipped from Farmington by any chance? You know I love you, mom;)

Yuck, yuck, yuck. That really was not very helpful. I am proud of you for fighting for Izzy and glad to hear things seem to finally be on the right track!

I'm so glad that you kept pressing them...What a terrible situation. We're thinking of you and hoping the Miss Izzy is feeling better today! P.S. LOVE the Halloween costumes! :)

That would tick me off, too!

I would appreciate hearing more about the "home remedies." I know cranberry juice is supposed to help, but that's about all I know. :)

Oh dang. That sucks. I'm sorry. Poor Izzy. Like she needs that joy on top of everything else. Well, they will remember to call back Kerri Costley next time. :) There's probably a little note that pops up on your file: Do Not Mess With This Woman. Or there should be. :) Hope she's feeling tons better now.

I saw your blog on the Hubers blog and once I started reading it, I realized that we have something in common-a child with leukemia. Actually just this morning, I took my son Simeon in to get his monthly dose of vincrystine, and to check blood counts. As I was looking back through your posts I also saw that the kids took the same Wish Trip. WE went to GKTW in Jan 2008. WE LOVED it!
Our Son Simeon was diagnoised Sept 25, 2006-we have 14 more months of treatment. He has biphenotypic Acute Leukemia (both ALL & AML) it's rare.
If you want to check his carepage out, it's www.carepages.com pagename: simeon5

Oh Poor Izzy! How could they do that to her! I miss you guys so much! I hope this does not happen again. Always remember to be assertive when it comes to healthcare providers!!! Unless you have a great nurse on your side! :) I miss you and hopefully Texas is great and warm:)

Kerri I am so sorry that Izzy had to suffer through that! I would be livid, make that I am livid for you. It is frustrating dealing with lazy/incompentent people. I hope meds will kick in soon and that Izzy will be feeling better.

Kerri - Just saw your note. That is just terrible! We will pray for you and your family. That kind of frustration is just so hard to take when it is your daughter and there is nothing you can do but yell at people!
